TOEFL Interview Practice Questions
TOEFL Take an Interview asks you to answer 4 connected questions about familiar experiences and opinions. You have 45 seconds for each response in this practice set. Develop a clear answer with reasons and examples. Our AI feedback estimates your delivery and language use after your recording uploads for scoring.
Listen to the audio, then answer after the cue. Your microphone audio is sent for scoring and saved privately for up to 30 days. Retrying a failed score is free; recording a new response uses another score.

How it’s scored here
The speech engine evaluates your response for pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary and relevance. Our task-score rules also consider how much of the response window you use and how fully you develop your answer. Read the speaking scoring rules.
Tips for a developed interview answer
- Use the full response window to develop your answer. If you receive “say more,” add a reason and one concrete example before you finish.
- Answer the actual question in your first sentence; keep the supporting details connected to it.
- Use clear, complete sentences. Review the grammar corrections for one pattern to improve next time.
- Read the sample answer only after responding. It is an original study example, not a script to memorize.
Frequently asked questions
How many interview questions can I practice?
The free set has 4 interview questions. Paid access adds the corresponding tasks from the other practice sets. Questions are original practice material.
How much can I practice for free?
Anonymous visitors receive 3 speaking scores per UTC day. A verified free account receives 11; paid access receives 300. The allowance is shared across speaking practice, including these drills. Recording a fresh response uses another score; failed evaluations can be retried without credits.
How long should my answer be?
Use the 45-second window to develop an answer, rather than stopping after a short statement. Give your main point, a reason and a concrete example. The feedback prioritizes a “say more” suggestion when your response is too short.
When will I get feedback?
Interview recordings are uploaded and scored in the background. Expect around 30–60 seconds; the page checks for the result automatically. If scoring fails, retry the saved response without using another credit.
Are my scores official, and are my recordings saved?
Scores are practice estimates and are not official TOEFL results. Drill recordings are saved privately for up to 30 days for evaluation and replay. We do not use your answers or recordings to train AI models; evaluation providers’ terms also apply. See How we score and our privacy policy for details.
Practice recordings are private. Read the recording and retention policy. For a timed section, explore TOEFL speaking practice tests.
